Warranty Policy

Buffalo Machines Limited provides a 12-month Parts-Only Warranty across its product range, subject to the terms below.


1. Application and Customer Classification

This Warranty Policy applies to all purchases. Customers are classified as:

  • Private Consumers (purchasing outside the course of business), and

  • Business Customers (purchasing in the course of trade, business, or profession).

Different rights and limitations apply depending on this classification.


A. PRIVATE CONSUMERS

2. Consumer Warranty Coverage
This warranty covers:

  • Manufacturing defects in non-wearing parts

  • Parts supplied with machines purchased directly from Buffalo Machines or authorised resellers

This is a parts-only warranty and excludes labour, servicing, and associated costs unless expressly agreed.


3. Warranty Period (Consumers)
The warranty period is 12 months from the date of purchase. Proof of purchase is required.


4. Consumer Rights
This warranty is in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.


5. Exclusions (Consumers)
The warranty does not cover faults caused by:

  • Abuse – including (but not limited to) improper storage or overloading

  • Neglect – including failure to properly maintain or adjust the machine (e.g. belts, cables, use of stale fuel or incorrect lubricants)

  • Accidental Damage – including physical or mechanical damage caused by improper care (e.g. fuel degradation within the system)

  • Misuse – including use outside intended purpose (e.g. overloading a dumper or overfeeding a chipper)

  • Normal wear and tear

  • Unauthorised repairs or modifications

  • External events (e.g. fire, flood, impact damage)


6. Resolving Warranty Issues (Consumers)
The primary method of resolution is the supply of replacement parts free of charge.

If the customer is unwilling or unable to fit the replacement part:

  • The machine must be returned to Buffalo Machines Limited for repair

  • The customer is responsible for return shipping costs

We can arrange return shipping where required. The customer must ensure:

  • The machine is properly packaged (original packaging recommended)

  • All fuel and oils are drained

  • Palletised goods are securely fixed to the pallet

  • The item is available roadside on a paved surface between 8:00am–6:30pm on an agreed weekday

Failed collections may incur additional charges.


7. Inspection and Repair (Consumers)
Upon receipt, Buffalo Machines will inspect the machine:

  • If the issue is covered under warranty → repair or replacement will be free of charge

  • If not covered → a quotation will be provided before any work is carried out

Return shipping costs must be paid before goods are returned.


B. BUSINESS CUSTOMERS

8. Basis of Warranty (B2B)
For Business Customers, this warranty is provided strictly on a contractual basis and constitutes the sole and exclusive remedy.

All other warranties, conditions, or terms are excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law, including those under the Sale of Goods Act 1979.


9. Warranty Coverage (B2B)
Business Customers receive a 12-month parts-only warranty on the same basis as consumers, except where varied below.

Hire companies are expressly excluded from all warranty coverage.


10. Warranty Conditions (B2B)
The warranty is strictly conditional upon:

  • Proper use within intended operating limits

  • Correct installation and maintenance

  • No unauthorised modification or repair

Failure to meet these conditions will void the warranty.


11. Exclusions (B2B)
In addition to standard exclusions, the warranty does not cover:

  • Abuse, neglect, accidental damage, or misuse (as defined above)

  • Wear and tear

  • Operator error

  • Failure to maintain equipment

  • Any commercial overuse or excessive duty cycles


12. Claims Procedure (B2B)
Business Customers must:

  • Notify Buffalo Machines within 48 hours of identifying a defect

  • Provide full supporting evidence

Buffalo Machines reserves the right to:

  • Inspect and test goods

  • Reject claims not meeting requirements


13. Repairs and Returns (B2B)
The Company will normally supply replacement parts.

Where return is required:

  • The customer is responsible for all transport costs

  • Packaging, palletisation, and collection requirements apply as above

  • All risk remains with the customer until received


14. Costs and Storage (B2B)

  • Return transport costs must be paid prior to dispatch

  • Repairs not covered under warranty will be chargeable

If invoices remain unpaid after 30 days:

  • Storage charges of £30 per week + VAT may be applied

  • If storage charges exceed the value of the machine, Buffalo Machines reserves the right to dispose of the goods to recover costs


15. Limitation of Liability (B2B)
To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Liability is limited to the supply of replacement parts

  • Total liability shall not exceed the purchase price

Buffalo Machines shall not be liable for:

  • Loss of profit

  • Loss of business

  • Downtime or loss of use

  • Indirect or consequential losses


C. GENERAL TERMS (ALL CUSTOMERS)

16. Non-Transferability
This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser. Second-hand purchases are not covered.


17. Scope Limitation
This warranty applies only to non-wearing parts unless otherwise stated.


18. Amendments
Buffalo Machines reserves the right to amend this Policy at any time. Changes will not apply retrospectively.


19. Governing Law
This Policy is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
